Welcome to The Bev List

We're under construction but open! Currently, we are focused on the re-release of our app. The Bev List is your go-to happy hour and drink special finder, and we’re excited to soon roll out exclusive coupons. Download the app and stay tuned for more updates!

This marks the 4th release of The Bev List, and it’s our 2nd native app version. Our story began back in 2015 when I, Tory World, was inspired by my then fiancée to bring this idea to life. After years of development, we launched The Bev List as a web app in 2021. Initially, we focused on providing information rather than articles. In 2022, we introduced a PWA (Progressive Web App) version, followed by the first native app in 2023. We officially incorporated on July 1, 2022.

Our initial releases were packed with exciting features, but we realized we were a little ahead of ourselves. With the 2024 release, we’ve decided to scale back and focus on delivering a great service for the Madison, Wisconsin area. The app has been recreated from the ground up and is still a work in progress. Please support us by using the app and exploring the spots we’ve listed.

About Us Me

Tory C. World, August 11, 2024, self-portrait.

I’m Tory World, the founder, president, and currently the developer behind The Bev List. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, I graduated from Madison East High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts - TV/Film from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A serial entrepreneur at heart, I’ve founded ventures such as the short-lived High Soundz Magazine in Seattle and Isthmus Digital Media Group LLC (dba Isthmus Business Assistants), where I also worked as a State of Wisconsin contractor. Additionally, I’ve worked in the public sector, holding roles as a caseworker for Dane County and a Self-Employment Specialist for the University of Wisconsin-Stout SVRI, as well as working with the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC).

At the end of 2023, I nearly shut down The Bev List for both personal and development-related reasons. In hindsight, I realize I was aiming too high with the initial launch. Now, I’m relaunching with a more modest approach, focusing on the Madison area and operating within a budget I can sustain without venture capital. This time around, the app is being launched in “Alpha” status, and it will continue to evolve. Thank you for your support as we build this out together.
